32 Podcast Episode 12 - Chris Bozzone/Cadabra Records

It was such a pleasure speaking with the multitalented brothers Eric and Greg Wier earlier this month for the 32 podcast. You can listen to the episode here!

I discussed my work as a soundtrack composer and musician for the boutique record label Cadabra Records, which brings to life both classic weird fiction by the likes of H.P. Lovecraft, M. R. James, and Algernon Blackwood and more esoteric works by writers such as Edogawa Rampo, Roland Topor, and Mark Samuels. In their work for Cadabra, composers like Fabio Frizzi, Anima Morte, Slasher Film Festival Strategy and myself give a cinematic feel to spoken-word records by creating wholly immersive soundtracks that complement the stories. Eric and Greg discuss their first experiences with Cadabra, from cleaning off a record player, turning off the lights, and falling under the spell of these records to having mesmerizing experiences at live Cadabra performances, like the recent Nightlands Festival and earlier events celebrating the works of Thomas Ligotti. We also explore how brilliant voice actors like Andrew Leman, Laurence R. Harvey, Jon Padgett, and Robert Lloyd Parry and visual artists like Karmazid, Jeremy Hush, Matt Jaffe, Dave Felton, Joe Keinberger, Jonathan Dennison, and Josh Yelle contribute to the Cadabra catalog, plus so much more.
