Cadabra Records in Philadelphia, PA, H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, OR, Victorian Ghost Stories in Haddonfield, NJ, return to the Everything Went Black Podcast

This fall season has been full of exciting and memorable live events and performances that I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of!

The Cadabra Records Live events at Retro City Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 30th and October 1st were extraordinary. Robert Lloyd Parry gave stellar performances of Maupassant’s “The Horla” and Blackwood’s “The Willows” on that Saturday evening. Anthony D.P. Mann did an amazing job with his renditions of select Poe poetry as well as Chambers’s “The Mask” on that Sunday. I can’t wait for “The Horla” and “The Mask” to be released on vinyl as live records connected to Cadabra’s new Haunt series at some point in 2024. Barry Knob and I had a blast performing these classic works with Robert and Anthony. Thanks to Cadabra Records founder, Jonathan Dennison for making these live performances and recordings possible!

It was an absolute pleasure and honor to perform soundtracks set to brilliant voice acting by both Andrew Leman and Robert Lloyd Parry in separate performances throughout the duration of the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon which took place October 6th through 8th. The Hollywood Theatre is a stunning building and an inspiring setting to perform in. Thanks to Gwen Callahan for all of her tireless work in setting up the festival and getting me to be a part of it alongside Andrew and Robert!

Also, last Friday, October 13th was a fantastic Victorian Ghost Stories event at the deeply atmospheric Book Restoration Bindery in Haddonfield, New Jersey. I greatly enjoyed providing ambient musical backdrops to poetry and short story readings by the great literary scholar Vignette-Noelle Lammott!

If you’d like to hear more about these events along with background information about my work as a soundtrack composer as well as my solo and collaborative music work with the brilliant Peter Scartabello, head of Yuggoth Records, I recently returned as a guest on Mike Hill’s spectacular podcast, Everything Went Black a little before all of these events took place and you can listen to episode 319 here.

2023 has been full of electrifying live performances throughout the year and I hope to keep this streak going into 2024! Thanks so much to everyone who has come out to these assorted shows as your support means so much.
